Full day around St Martin

Our core charter: eight hours around St Martin from Marina Fort Louis. The skipper sets the route on the morning itself, according to the wind — most often towards the nature reserve and the islets off the north-east — and stops at two or three anchorages for swimming, snorkelling, paddleboarding and kayaking. Alongside again at 5 pm, leaving your evening ashore free. A private charter, six guests maximum.

A day built around the nature reserve

The north-east of the island holds the anchorages St Martin is known for: the rocky islet of Créole Rock, the white sand of Tintamarre, the shallow water off Pinel and Petite Clef. That is where the full day usually goes, because eight hours leave time to get in the water without rushing.

The pace is that of a beach day rather than a passage: two or three anchorages, a good hour at each, masks and fins out at every stop. In between, you stay put in the shaded cockpit or out on the trampolines while the boat makes her way.

This is the charter we recommend to families and to groups who come first of all to swim. Inside the nature reserve, boats may only moor on the buoys provided: the skipper settles the route on the morning itself, based on the wind, the swell and which buoys are free.

Questions about this charter

  • Which anchorages does the full day visit?

Two or three, chosen by the skipper on the morning itself. Most often Créole Rock, Tintamarre islet, Pinel and Petite Clef, or Orient Bay. None is guaranteed in advance: the day's weather decides, and inside the nature reserve the availability of the mooring buoys counts as well.

  • Is this the right charter with young children?

Yes. Coming back at 5 pm keeps you off the water at the end of the day, and the skipper can favour the sheltered, shallow anchorages off Pinel islet and Petite Clef. Children's lifejackets are on board; tell us their ages in your quote request.

  • Do you spend the day sailing or at anchor?

Mostly at anchor. Across the eight hours of the charter, moving between stops accounts for roughly two hours in total; the rest of the time the boat is stopped and you are in the water or on board.

  • Can we stay out beyond 5 pm?

Yes, by adding one or more extra hours at €175 each, to be requested with your quote. If you already know you want to stay out to the end of the day, the Full day & sunset charter is built for it, with the run down the west coast and evening drinks served on board.
